For the 12 months ending March 31, vs. the previous 12 months, the average price in the Bend area rose from $408,649 to $424,337. Little change is expected in existing-home sales over the next few months, before improving notably during the second half of this year. This is according to the latest forecast by the National Association of Realtors. Said Lawrence Yun, NAR's chief economist, "We're looking for essentially stable sales in the near term, before high mortgage loan limits translate into more sales.". The wider access to affordable credit should increase sales activity notably this summer as pent-up demand begins to be met.
